The Bachelor of Science Nursing (Top-up) degree programme is accredited by the Singapore Nursing Board (SNB).
The part-time nursing degree programme will enable you to develop the required critical, enquiring approach to nursing that supports high-quality, safe, evidence-based and effective care across a dynamic and contemporary healthcare environment. The nursing degree graduates will possess the knowledge, skills and abilities to practice collaboratively across healthcare settings and communities and within the context of the Singapore Nursing Board’s Domains of Practice and global health perspectives.

MDIS School of Health Sciences
Dr Sandra Sharp from Edinburgh Napier University (ENU) gives an overview of the Bachelor of Science Nursing (Top-Up) programme here at MDIS. This programme is awarded by Edinburgh Napier University, UK and accredited by Singapore Nursing Board. It is fully taught by the ENU faculty, the largest School of Health and Social Care in Scotland.
Upon successful completion of this programme, you will have the knowledge and skills to gain graduate-level employment as a Nurse, Clinical Nurse Consultant, Nurse Manager, Nurse Educator or Nurse Researcher. Graduates can also further their studies by taking up a Master's Degree to pursue career prospects in more senior positions.

Dr Sandra Sharp is a registered nurse who has spent over fifteen years working in acute care Scotland and Australia. Her clinical roles included working in intensive and coronary care units and latterly working in clinical education and practice development roles. Sandra is programme leader for the BSc Nursing Studies (Singapore). Sandra is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and teaches on both undergraduate and post graduate students, and supervises PhD students. Her research interests include person centred care, and workforce development. She is the clinical academic representative large workforce development project across NHS Lothian.

Shona is the programme leader for the MSc Healthcare Management in addition to being deputy for the BSc Nursing. She has worked as a registered general nurse in orthopaedics and ophthalmology. As a registered midwife Shona's areas of expertise are intrapartum, neonatal and community-based care. She has an interested in enhancing person centred care. Shona works collaboratively with community midwives in developing their confidence and skill in managing community based obstetric emergencies in order to improve outcomes for mothers and babies. Her research interests include interprofessional learning and person-centred care. Shona is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and teaches on both undergraduate and post graduate students, and supervises Master’s dissertation students.

Entry Requirements
Applicants must be of age 18 and above and possess one of the following entrance requirements:
Registered nurses with Singapore Nursing Board who hold a certificate or diploma in nursing and a current practicing certificate (full and conditional registration only) issued by SNB.
Note: All applications are subject to University approval. Graduates of the Healthcare Professional Conversion Programme, the 2-year Diploma in Nursing (Accelerated) by Nanyang Polytechnic (NYP), are eligible to apply to the Bachelor of Science Nursing (Top-up) programme.
