Launch of New IGCSE Preparatory ProgrammeLatest News
MDIS College is proud to announce the introduction of a new 16-month preparatory course for International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE). The College will be welcoming its first batch of students on 23 July.
The internationally recognised IGCSE was first developed and issued by Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) in 1988 and is one of the most popular international qualifications for 14 - 16 year olds. Equivalent to the GCE O-level or GCSE O-level qualifications, the IGCSE would enable students to pursue programmes in higher education institutions, thereby opening up more educational opportunities and in future, employment opportunities for them.
The 16-month preparatory course offered by MDIS College will equip students with knowledge and skills to excel in the IGCSE examination. The course commences in July every year with students taking their examinations at the end of the following year. IGCSE students in MDIS College will undertake a 5-subject combination comprising English (First Language or Second Language), Mathematics, Mathematics – Additional, Science – Combined, and Accounting. Through classroom and laboratory sessions, MDIS College will prepare the students well for their examinations, based on CIE guidelines.
MDIS College firmly believes in holistic education for the youth of tomorrow. Its team of teachers are committed to high academic quality standards. In addition, it has also introduced an in-house monitoring system to track students’ progress and provide accurate, specific and regular feedback to parents and guardians. IGCSE students will also benefit from the Inter-disciplinary Workshops conducted by MDIS, which enhances their awareness and understanding of various disciplines they can explore for higher education.
