These workshops are offered to all full-time MDIS students and conducted by experienced industry professionals. Each session is tailored to the student’s academic level, ensuring the skills gained are relevant, practical, and immediately applicable. Through these workshops, students develop:

Mr Abdul Raoof - Values for Success

Abdul Raoof is an appointed associate/guest Professor of Management by the Zhejiang Technical Institute of Economics (Hangzhou, China). Dr Raoof graduated with a BSc (Hons) in Marketing from the University of Wales (UK), he studied Masters in Educational & Psychology (UK), and Masters in Finance (Dublin) and has various other professional qualifications like Charted Institute of Marketing (MCIM) and ACTA. Raoof is a practicing counsellor and personal coach, he is also an officially certified academic and trainer. Mr Raoof is a veteran in the Private Education Sector, he has taught for close to twenty years and in ten institutions. He has also played the role of Academic Head, Module Leader and Moderator. As an academic and mentor for schools he has conducted several workshops for students from 16 to 21 years old on character building, critical thinking, career management, self-identification and Personality profiling. A seasoned corporate trainer and a motivational speaker with several years of training experience, having trained several organisations from the government sectors, MNCs and SMEs. Energy Market Authority, Fujitec, and SIA Engineering were some of the companies trained by him.

Mr Raoof has also delivered several motivational speeches and is a profound researcher who has worked on several hypotheses and is responsible for the development of various academic modules and the writing of textbooks for several educational bodies. He has continuously been invited to train regionally in countries like China, India, Indonesia, Maldives, Uzbekistan, Vietnam and other South Asian and Central Asian Countries. His specialisation in Leadership; Strategic Marketing; and Finance has made him well-versed in several different industries like Tourism, Production, Heavy Industry, Security, Publication, Pharmaceutical, Medical, Hospitality and Education. He continues to be an associate lecturer, bringing his years of experience to more than a dozen foreign and local Universities and University Partners. He is currently a professional corporate trainer and heads several organisations on an adjunct basis. His other forte in Emotional Intelligence; Brain Power and Subliminal mind has also contributed to being a well-established motivational speaker and personal coach. He has spoken on the national radio on emotional intelligence.

 

Mr Jude Lim - The LinkedIn Workshop

Mr Chua Swee Hee Jack - Winning Resumes & Interviewing Skills

Jack Chua S H, Partner and Principal Consultant, CME Consulting. Jack’s career as a coach, consultant, trainer and facilitator spans 30+ years. He has worked with staff at general management, middle management and supervisory level seeking to enhance their individual, team and organization effectiveness. Jack has worked in senior Organization and Learning Development, and Human Resources (HR) roles with number of MNCs with global operations. Apart from coaching and pipeline development of client organizations, Jack has supported career profiling and resume writing for client organizations and their staff for leading edge companies in the Tele-communications & Information Technology, FMCG, Real Estate, Property Development, Construction, Manufacturing, and Petrochemicals sectors.

Mr Shareef Bin Abdul Jaffar - Creative & Critical Thinking at School

Shareef Jaffar is an international management and training consultant with over 35 years of industry experience. He has held senior general management positions in both local and international companies, primarily within the hospitality and human resource development sectors. As the head of an international training and development consultancy, Shareef specializes in training design and has served as a contracted consultant for numerous multinational corporations, NGOs, and government agencies. His extensive international training and development experience includes conducting programs in Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Thailand, and several other countries across Asia, the Middle East, and Africa. His consultancy work includes advising Nokia (SEA) on franchising and marketing communication strategy and developing training programs for Nokia’s distributors. He has also collaborated with SQ Centre and the Tourism Institute of Singapore to develop training modules for tourism and service professionals. Additionally, he consulted with InWent (Germany) for the IT@Coop Project in Thailand and has worked with Singaporean government agencies like PUB and the Singapore Police Force on service excellence training. 

Shareef’s academic credentials include Master’s degrees in Strategic Planning, Education, and Law (Corporate Governance). He also holds post-graduate qualifications in Business Administration, Marketing, and Training & Development, and is a Certified Assessor in Quality Management Systems. His training certifications include an Advanced Certificate in Learning and Performance, a Certificate in Effective E-Learning Design from Oxford University, and certifications in teaching pedagogy, facilitation skills, instructional design, and training management. Shareef is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing and a Distinguished Fellow of MDIS. He is a Senior Accredited Director and a member of the Singapore Institute of Directors. Beyond his professional work, Shareef is actively involved in community service. He served in the Singapore Police Force as NS Commander, Central Police Division, and received several commendations for his leadership. He also holds Chairs and hold board positions in various educational and social organizations, including the Management Development Institute of Singapore, Singapore Quality Centre, TCC Credit cooperative and Secureguard Service Cooperative, demonstrating his commitment to both professional excellence and social responsibility.

 

Dr Siew Ngung Chia  - Effective Time Management, Study & Exam Techniques

Dr. Siew Ngung Chia, Associate lecturer and trainer. Educational Qualifications include BSc, MBA, DBA. His Core Competencies are in Operations and Supply Chain Management, Marketing, Quantitative Research. SIEW, Ngung Chia obtained a Doctoral in Business Administration from the University of Newcastle, Australia. Before his retirement, he has held several senior academic appointments in the University of SIM, MDIS and PSB Academy where he had taught courses on supply chain management, operations management, service operations, marketing, strategic management, contract management and quantitative research methods. Dr. Siew was also a member of the examination board in the University of Wales and the Singapore Institute of Purchasing and Materials Management. 

Prior to his academic appointments, Dr. Siew was a senior officer in the Singapore Civil Service and had held senior positions in several Singapore Statutory Boards. Thereafter, he was appointed to a senior management position in a Shipping and Logistic Company for 10 years before he went into private consultancy and training. Dr. Siew has invested considerable energy in academic lecturing and workshops both locally in Singapore and overseas.  His interests have broadened to include conducting workshops and seminars for civil service related institutions. For example, he had conducted training workshops in logistic and contract management for the Bhutan Utility Board and seminars in public administration and management for the both the Gabon Administration and Maldives Civil Service Commission. He has worked in several PEI s such as MDIS, UniSIM, PSB Academy, Singapore Institute of Purchasing and Material Management (SIPMM).

 

Ms Teo Ser Lee - Networking: Relationship, Building & Business Etiquette,  Effective Presentation Skills

Teo Ser Lee is the Founder and Director of Protocol Academy Pte Ltd, Singapore’s pioneer in etiquette and protocol services. Ms Teo is trained and certified by The Protocol School of Washington where she specializes in Corporate Etiquette & International Protocol. She is also a qualified Colour & Make-up Artist, Personal Stylist and Image Consultant as well as an associate of APICSA (Association of Professional Image Consultants of South Africa). She caters to mid and top level executives who wish to enhance their self-confidence, heighten their communication skills, outshine their competition and increase their bottom line. Customised seminars are geared to educate, motivate and meet the needs of today’s busy executives.

She has more than 12 years’ experience in the hospitality industry, specializing in marketing and corporate communications. She has held management position with Singapore Airlines, providing services to high valued customers and was also General Manager, Corporate Communications for Samsung Electronics, handling media relations, publicity and promotions for all the company’s products. Amongst her achievements are 5 beauty titles;
